Bennett College received a $497,242 grant from the Office of Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice. Serving as the lead institution, Bennett College has partnered with NC A&T State University and Shaw University as the first HBCU consortium to receive this award. These funds are utilized to promote awareness and prevention for Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking on the college campuses. The funding also will assist in providing training to students, staff and faculty.

Awareness Months

October– Domestic Violence & Dating Violence

January– Stalking Awareness

April– Sexual Assault Awareness

CONFIDENTIALITY
The Counseling and Health Centers ensure confidentiality. This means that information shared between student and counselor cannot be released to anyone, including family or college, without consent of student. The only time confidentiality can be released is if a student is in danger of harming herself or others.
